주제: '집으로 가는 길' (우편전시 흔적 中)
내용: 25 Silver Gelatin Prints (4' x 6')
Statement:
"사진은 순간을 담는 것으로 끝나지 않는다.
사진은 끊임없이 변형되며 당신의 시각으로 새롭게 경험된다.
사진은 그 순간 예술이 된다.
사진이 '나눔'없이 절대 혼자 일 수 없는 이유이다"
'집으로 가는 길'은 '도시와 도시인'을 주제로 선 보이는 마이스 그레이의 7번째 Urban Black and White 사진 시리즈이며 우편전시 '흔적'의 --점이다. 그의 주된 시정인 도시인의 '외로움(그리고 슬픔)'은 인간 본연으로의 회귀이며 위로이며 善을 의미한다. 독특한 개인적 경험과 관심이 主를 이루던 예술의 중심에 '나눔과 위로'란 화두를 던진다. 그에게 개인과 집단의 구분이란 더 이상 존재하지 않으며 이는 티벳철학 등에서 주창되어 온 '한 줄기로의 회귀'에 대한 존재론적 접근이다. 세계 각지에서 찍은 25장의 포즈되지 않은 있는 그대로의 사진을 통해 우리가 하나임을 이야기한다.
우편전시 '흔적'은 2005년 12월 19일 뉴욕의 CPS 32갤러리를 기점으로 시작되어 파리8대 대학, 극장, 영국 대한민국대사관 등 이 후 미국, 영국, 프랑스, 중동, 한국의 단체 및 개인에게 전달되어 전시될 계획이다. 이를 받는 사람들은 자신의 흔적을 첨부하여 지속적으로 전달하게 되며 2006년 同 갤러리를 통해 공동전시될 예정이다.
마이스그레이는 현재 뉴욕의 ICP와 Bloomberg News에서 일하고 있으며 조선일보를 통해 사진컬럼을 연재하고 있다.

Title: 'On My Way Home', pieces from mail exhibition 'Traces'
Content: 25 Silver Gelatin Prints (4' x 6')
Statement:
"Photography are not frozen view of the world.
Photography do not just copy nature but metamorphose it.
They metamorphose inside of your mind and get eventually re-experienced by you.
That moment Photography become an act of art,
another reason why it cannot be solely photographer's point of view."
'On My Way Home' is Mice Grey's 7th urban black and white photographs and a part of upcoming mail exhibition 'TRACE'. His poetic photography shows well enough ten(10) longing years wanting to be writer. In his story, one becomes 'human' through realizing his/her solitary stance in the world. In his world, loneliness (or even grief) is a part of 'goodness'.
Superficial individual experience has been overstated, especially in Arts World, not to mention in photography. To Mice Grey, there is no need to segregate between 'individual' and 'collective'. Rather it is time that 'Sharing' should be a center idea of Arts. His philosophy of sharing is not based on 'sociology' but 'existentialism', what Tibetian called 'one big flow'. It is a belief that humans can be ONE through turning to their existence. Through 25 photographs taken from different parts of world, he reflects viewer's own voice off the each images.
Mail exhibition 'TRACE' will begin at CPS 32 Gallery in New York on December 19 and travel throughout many galleries, groups, and individuals around the world, including Universite Paris VIII, Korean Embassy in London, Court in Oho, Middle East School, and Korea where viewers would see his collection of 25 photographs and leave their own traces in the mail. TRACE will come back to the same gallery for Ending performance, this time under everyones' names in Spring 2006.
Mice Grey is currently working with International Center of Photography and Bloomberg News. His photography columns are widely read through Korea's Chosun Ilbo, the biggest daily newspaper in the country.

http://cafe.chosun.com/orange 와 www.photoblog.be/micegrey에서 님의 근황을 보았습니다. 그리 매섭지도 않은 파리 겨울 바람에도 견디지 못하고 요동치는 세느 강물을 실연당한 사람처럼 무심히 바라만 보고있는 내 가슴에, 님의 작업이 단단한 돌이 되어 날아와 부딛히는군요. 지난 7일부터 오페라 근처 골목 안 허름한 갤러리에 어설프게 사진을 걸고 텅 비어버린 가슴이라 껍데기만 남아 있었는데,,,,,,
님의 조선 닷 컴 불로그 글 아래 댓글을 다신 그 분의 심정처럼 '순수하지 못한' 부끄러움이 껍질 깨진 가슴팍 속에서 시커멓게 쏟아져서 님의 작업에 동참하지 못함이 안타깝군요. 님의 사진 이미지 속에 존재하고 있음을 흔적 남긴 짙은 noir처럼, 님의 작업이 끈끈하게 연결되길 기원합니다.
